Veepstakes Turned…Age-stakes?

The Wall Street Journal blogged about Sen. John Thune Monday night, as part of its series on examining different vice presidential options. It strikes me as odd that the post lists his age as a con, considering he was born the same year as Obama and stands in stark contrast to Obama as a man who really does have the heartland values Obama wants us to think he has. Thune, like Obama, is young and charismatic. Calling Thune “seven months Obama’s senior” here is reminiscent of a child insisting he is “10 and a half, going on 11.”

Of course, this is all moot if Jim Geraghty is right.

In case you missed it, you can also see Thune’s appearance on Fox News Sunday at Townhall.com by clicking here. It’s worth a watch if for no other reason than it’s entertaining to see Sen. Claire McCaskill get so nasty.

  1. I wonder what the difference between 47-year-old Thune and 47-year-old Pawlenty is.

  2. That’s a great question, Steve. Perhaps I’ll tackle that in a future post…
